This is "ICE at Santa Monica." Who would have ever thought of ice skating when it's 65 degrees outside. Only in California.

Wrastlin'

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

This was taken a few years ago after we finally decided to get rid of the christmas tree. It was basically a skeleton at that point. Those are all of it's needles on the floor.

At the gallery I work at, we hung a mock up of the show title to get a grasp on the size of the text in relation to the wall. We've kept it up though, only because it looks like it is a banner for someone's high school reunion.

Finally a new polaroid! This is from September.

This one is kind of weird because it's a slide taken of a Polaroid. I like the original picture, though.

Matt and I filmed a commercial for a WXRT contest and lost. He took this still of me from the video on a polaroid, and I think this is one of my favorite photos of myself. Good Work, Matt!

I remember (kind of) taking this picture at a party at "The Bog" in the IIT campus across the street from Comisky Park. The picture got scuffed up a bit, but then again, so did I. In the foreground is my friend Brian. I'm not quite sure what he's doing.

Diptych completed!

This turned out to be kind of an interesting picture. I don't think that there were enough chemicals in the little storage bladder at the bottom of the picture. The result was an incomplete exposure. Compositionally, though, I like the way it ended up. I like the colors, too.

I took this one a couple of summers ago of my friend Marty Jumping in a garbage can.

Still no scanner. This is half of a diptych from February 2007.

I found this picture that I had taken a few

years back in the basement of my old house.

I wonder who lives there now.

I took this in January in my apartment. I was doing yoga, and I noticed the how the subtle lighting of the ceiling picked up on the cracks. I thought it was beautiful.

This is in Central Park in Griffith, Indiana. I actually took this a couple of weeks ago. Matt used to play on this tank when he was a kid.

No. No new scanner. Annie and Peter have been kind enough to let me scan some stuff!

This is the Venice Boardwalk at Sunset. I miss warm weather.

I really like this picture even though I don't know why. It's the back lot to the "Chubby Weiner" on Western.

The internet connection that I am stealing from a neighbor of mine hasn't been working lately. I haven't been able to post because of it. And I still don't have a working scanner.

Here is a polaroid I took right after moving back to Chicago from Los Angeles. This is from my bedroom window, and that damn street light would keep me up at night until we found some thick, dark curtains to stop the light from coming in. My last polaroid in Los Angeles was this picture I posted a couple of weeks ago.

Here, I'm trying to capture the "old magic" of my early

childhood spent in the Northeast.

A couple of years ago, I saw this amazing photograph by Henry Wessel; he managed to photograph a wave right at it's breaking point. I figured by his vantage point, he must have been on long pier that was able to take him far enough into the ocean to get behind or next to the big waves the surfers catch. Wessel's California photographs, especially those on the beach, are mostly centered around Santa Monica and Venice. The Venice Pier is amazing; no fuss, no games, no rides, just a giant concrete pier that must go at least a half mile into the ocean. The polaroid camera doesn't work as quick as a SLR camera, so I had to catch this at just the right moment. It's a little blurry, and the lighting is a little low, but I still like to this that this is my homage to Henry Wessel.

Here is another image from Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. When I lived in California, the gallery I worked for sold photography that was apart of the New Topographics sensibility. Anyway, I noticed that my work began to mimic the work that I was selling.

It had just finished raining, and I decided to go for a walk.

I came across this scene about a half an hour into it.

The best part about Chicago is when it finally starts to get warm; people really take advantage of being outside. I remember that it was still pretty chilly out, but warm for spring, so I thought it would be a nice kite flying day. I was pretty shocked to see how many people hang out on the concrete stairs over looking the lake, and I had to wait until the area cleared out before I could get the picture I wanted. I didn't mind the girl in the background. She matched my kite so well.

My scanner is dead. I am buying a new one next week after I get paid.

This isn't my favorite picture in the world, however I do really love the larger than life portrait of Jim Morrison.

I'm dreaming of warm weather right now. . .

It was over a 100 degrees when I took this polaroid this past July. It could explain why it looks a little fuzzy.

I think I took this in 2001. My friend, Nathan, lived in this apartment in Studio City, CA that had this great pool in the center of the complex. How "Melrose Place!"

My scanner is either dead or on the fritz. I'll be posting old polaroids until I get a new one or fix the crappy one I have. I have a lot of new pics I want to post!
